Naseem, Ahmad and many other members of Ahmadiyya Community Finland are living through horrific stories of vicious attacks on their core family members in various cities of Pakistan

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s core message is of peace and it categoric condemns all forms of violence or conflicts in the name of religion. Our motto is “Love for All, Hatred for None” and we are committed to promoting interfaith understanding, mutual harmony and peaceful coexistence in Finnish society and the world at large.

Ironically Ahmadiyya community is facing bitter persecution in Pakistan, which has gone from “bad” to “worst”. Almost on daily basis, members of Ahmadiyya Community are being targeted for murder, mob attacks are taking place on their homes and properties, their mosques are being vandalized and desecrated, tomb-stones of their graves are being defaced and members are being forced to flee their homes in hiding because of vicious attacks carried out by religious extremists in Pakistan in the name of religion.

On September 28, 2025, extremist mobs allegedly led by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) launched violent attacks against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Village Piro Chak, District Sialkot, Pakistan. Several houses and 1 shop were set ablaze, vehicles and tractors were torched, dozens of Ahmadis were beaten; one person seriously injured by gunfire and dozens of families were forced to flee under threats of death and property seizure.

In Finland as well, there is a worrying trend in which hatred is increasingly being directed against religious minorities. On the night before September 26, 2025, an attack was carried out on a property acquired by an Islamic community in Lieto, Southwest Finland. On September 26, 2025, the Jewish Sabbath, a Jewish congregation in Helsinki was targeted by a hostile demonstration and anti-Semitic stickers were pasted around the synagogue.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Finland categorically condemns the hatred, vandalism and violence directed at both the Islamic and Jewish communities in Finland. We demand the political and civic authorities in Finland to intervene decisively in hate crimes targeting any religious community in Finland.

As the inhumane persecution of Ahmadis in Pakistan directly affects Ahmadis in Finland, and since Finland is a proud promoter of the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) Articles 2 and 18, as well as a state that has ratified and actively implements the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), we urge the Finnish Government and its ministries to raise the issue of Ahmadiyya persecution with the Government of Pakistan. We further call on them to press Pakistan to align its laws and practices with international human rights standards, fulfill its responsibility to protect all citizens, guarantee freedom of religion to Ahmadis, and ensure that perpetrators of hate crimes and religiously motivated attacks are brought to justice.
