Helsinki Book Fair
By the grace of Allah Almighty, the Publication Department of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Finland, with the cooperation of the Tabligh Department, had the opportunity to set up a stall at Finland’s largest Book Fair, held at Messukeskus in the capital city of Helsinki from October 24 to 27, 2024. This year, approximately 98,000 people attended Finland’s largest book fair, which was 11% more than the previous year.
On this occasion, the National External Affairs Department also issued a press release, which was published on the book fair administration’s website in both Finnish and English. This helped spread the information to a wide audience.
After the inauguration of the stall, various members of the Jamaat had the opportunity to serve at the stall and convey the message of truth over the four days. Respected Shahid Mahmood Kahlon Sahib, the Missionary-in-Charge, was also present at the stall at different times. Translations of the Holy Quran in different languages adorned the stall, along with books on various topics written by the Promised Messiah (as), the Khulafa, and Jamaat publications in English. Many of these books were distributed for free. Additionally, some books in Swedish were also handed out.
The newly published Finnish translation of the Holy Quran attracted the most interest from visitors. Many people eagerly examined the Quran and asked questions. Twenty-six people requested copies of the Quran. Moreover, an Arabic calligraphy section was arranged, which attracted many visitors who took their names written in Arabic as souvenirs.
Visitors engaged in discussions on various topics, including the existence of God, the claim of the Promised Messiah (as), the death of Jesus (as), Khilafat, Islam in the modern era, and the current global situation.
By the grace of Allah, this book fair stall became a major source of Jamaat’s introduction and Tabligh and proved to be very successful. A total of 22 copies of the Holy Quran, 174 books, and nearly 1,000 Tabligh brochures were distributed.
