Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Finland organised a notable Holy Qur’an exhibition on 16th June 2025 at the Riihimäki City Library, continuing its nationwide effort to promote peace, interfaith dialogue, and understanding through the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaatnd announcements were already made in the city to attract the visitors to the event.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mayor of Riihimäki – Jouni Eho, who formally opened the event by cutting the ribbon in a ceremony attended by local guests and Jamaat representatives. In his speech, the Mayor expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the initiative and reflected on the importance of building bridges through knowledge and cultural exchange. He also highlighted his own academic background in Islamic and Western cultural studies, which has deepened his understanding of the significance of such interfaith efforts.

During the event, the Mayor was given a detailed presentation by Mr. Usharib Hamdoon, highlighting the history and humanitarian efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat internationally and in Finland, under the guidance of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah be his Helper). Missionary-in-Charge Shahid Kahloon offered the mayor cooperation for any initiatives that could benefit the city and its residents. The Mayor warmly welcomed this gesture and expressed his appreciation for the Jamaat’s ongoing contributions to the social fabric of Finnish society.
After that, the Mayor spoke to the general audience present at the library at the Holy Quran exhibition inauguration ceremony. His full speech underscored the role of libraries as democratic and inclusive spaces, where all individuals—regardless of origin or belief—can come to learn, reflect, and connect. He remarked that this exhibition is not merely a presentation of a religious text but a window into a civilisation that has contributed to global thought, art, and culture for over a millennium. He emphasised the importance of fostering environments—both physical and intellectual—where people can safely meet and understand one another.
Following the speech, Missionary-in-Charge Finland, Imam Shahid Mahmood Kahloon, presented the Mayor with the Finnish translation of the Holy Qur’an along with flowers, as a token of appreciation. Imam Kahloon also shared remarks on the objective of these exhibitions—to promote peace, dispel misconceptions, and foster mutual respect.
Guests were then invited to explore the multilingual Holy Qur’an display, which featured translations in over 30 languages, including Finnish, Swedish, Russian, Danish, and others. Coffee was served during the informal interaction that followed, providing a warm and welcoming environment for open dialogue.
In Finland, this third of its kind month-long exhibition is expected to attract steady public interest and will remain open to visitors throughout July 2025. The exhibition is set to continue until the end of July, welcoming approximately 500 visitors daily. The event was organised under the department of publications, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Finland.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Finland continues its mission to bring people together through education, service, and peace, using these exhibitions as a platform for greater societal understanding.
