Meeting with the Mayor of Joensuu and the Priest of Joensuu
By the grace of Allah, on 10 February 2026, a delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Finland held a meeting with the Mayor of Joensuu, Mr. Jere Penttilä. The meeting took place in a warm and respectful atmosphere, with discussions centered on the peaceful teachings of Islam and the community’s efforts to promote harmony and understanding within Finnish society. The Mayor expressed his appreciation for the Finnish translation of the Holy Qur’an that was presented to him and acknowledged the positive contributions of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.
During the same week, the Jamaat also had the pleasure of meeting with Ms. Salla Romo, Priest of Joensuu. The interfaith meeting was conducted in a cordial and respectful environment. Discussions focused on the peaceful teachings of Islam, the importance of interfaith dialogue, and the need for mutual understanding and cooperation within society. The meeting reflected a shared commitment to building bridges and promoting harmony among different faith communities in Joensuu.
Both meetings served as meaningful steps toward strengthening relationships with local leadership and faith representatives, while conveying the Jamaat’s message of peace, dialogue, and service to humanity.
